Infiltrations
Targeted injection therapy for quick pain relief. The medication goes directly where it is needed.
What are Infiltrations?
In an infiltration, medication is injected precisely at the site of the problem - directly into the joint, at the tendon, or at the spine. This allows the active ingredient to take full effect where it is needed.
Compared to tablets, injection has decisive advantages: the effect starts faster, the dosage can be lower, and the rest of the body is less burdened.
Depending on the condition, we use various active ingredients - from local anesthetics and cortisone to hyaluronic acid or autologous PRP.
Types of Infiltrations
Joint Infiltration
Injection directly into the joint for arthritis, irritation, or effusion
Periarticular Infiltration
Injection around the joint for tendon attachment irritation
Spinal Infiltration
Targeted treatment for disc problems and facet joint arthritis
Trigger Point Infiltration
Treatment of painful muscle indurations
Benefits
Applications
Image-Guided Infiltration
For spinal injections, we often use imaging techniques (ultrasound or X-ray) to place the needle precisely. This achieves optimal effect with maximum safety.
Treatment Process
Examination
Localization of the pain point and selection of the appropriate procedure.
Disinfection
Thorough skin disinfection to prevent infections.
Injection
Targeted injection of the medication. Duration: a few seconds to minutes.
Rest Period
Brief rest period in the practice, then you can go home.
Note on Cortisone
Cortisone infiltrations are very effective but should not be repeated too frequently. We generally recommend a maximum of 3-4 injections per year at the same site. We advise you on alternatives.
