Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most important questions about our treatments and examinations.

Is an MRI examination painful or dangerous?

No, an MRI examination is completely painless and involves no radiation exposure. Our open MRI system is also much less stressful than a confined tube – ideal for patients with claustrophobia.

What is special about the open MRI?

Our MRI system has an open magnet architecture. The examination is therefore much less stressful than in a confined tube – ideal for patients with claustrophobia or those who are overweight. The high quality of soft tissue imaging is fully maintained.

When should I have my bone density measured?

Women from age 60 and men from age 65 should consider a bone density measurement. With certain risk factors (e.g. family history of osteoporosis, long-term cortisone therapy, underweight), an earlier measurement may be advisable. DEXA measurement is low-risk and completely painless. Early detection is important because osteoporosis can be treated well in its early stages.

How many shockwave treatments are needed?

Usually only 1-3 treatments at short intervals are needed – each lasting just a few minutes. Activated self-healing powers continue to work even after the therapy is completed. Significant pain relief usually occurs just a few days after the first treatment.

What conditions can be treated with shockwave therapy?

Shockwave therapy is particularly effective for: heel spurs, tennis elbow, calcified shoulder, Achilles tendon problems, bursitis, patellar tip syndrome, and chronic muscle tension in the back, shoulder, and neck areas.

What is 3D/4D spine analysis?

It is a radiation-free alternative to X-rays – a combination of state-of-the-art video technology and digital data processing. The measurement is fast, contactless, and enables precise diagnosis for more individualized therapies. Particularly suitable for children, adolescents, and pregnant women.

What conditions does acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture is successfully used for: muscle and tendon injuries, spine and joint problems, migraines and headaches, chronic pain, allergies, and burnout syndrome. All our physicians hold additional certification in acupuncture.

How long does a physiotherapy session last?

With us, you receive at least 30 minutes of active treatment time per session – not just the usual 15-20 minutes. The close collaboration between doctor and physiotherapist ensures optimal treatment results.

Are treatments covered by health insurance?

Many of our services are covered by public and private health insurance. Some special procedures like 3D spine analysis are not yet reimbursed by public insurance. We are happy to advise you individually about costs and reimbursement options.

What is Axomera therapy?

Axomera therapy is an innovative bioelectric treatment method used for chronic pain, migraines, cluster headaches, and neuropathic complaints. Targeted electrical impulses stimulate the body's own nervous system and activate self-healing powers. The method is non-invasive and well-tolerated.
